African Sea Divers (ASD) Swim School operates from January 15 to mid-December. Fees are calculated based on a standard four-week month. In months with five (5) weeks, the additional lesson(s) are not charged. Full payment is required for both December and January. This ensures our dedicated teachers are paid in full for their hard work during the festive period.
NEW REGISTRATIONS• New applicants to African Sea Divers are required to pay a non-refundable fee of R300 per swimmer upon registering with African Sea Divers (ASD) Swim School. The fee is a once-off payment that covers registration and the swimmers automatic booking for the entire calendar year.• A deposit equal to one month's swimming fee is required upon registration and will be applied to your 30-day notice period.RE-REGISTRATION• A non-refundable annual registration fee of R120 is required upon re-registration.• A deposit equal to one month's swimming fee is required upon re-registration and will be applied to your 30-day notice period.
TERMINATION OF SWIMMING CONTRACT• To terminate swimming lessons, the account holder is required to send a 30-day notice letter at least five (5) days before the start of the next month. Written notices can be emailed to swimschool@africanseadivers.com.• The deposit paid upon registration will be applied to the notice month. However, the account holder is still responsible for paying the current month’s swimming fee.• If no formal written notice is received, the account holder will be charged for the next month’s lessons.
BOOKING CANCELLATION/RE-SCHEDULING• Bookings renew each month.• Once the account holder confirms the selected lesson slot, the swimmer will be added to the weekly calendar. Once a swimmer has been scheduled for a session, he or she must commit to the lesson in order for operations to go smoothly. If a swimmer is unable to commit to their scheduled slot, account holder/s are requested to notify us via email at swimschool@africanseadivers.com or via WhatsApp at 063 442 2353. African Sea Divers will do their best to arrange an alternative session.• Cancellations of booking must be done at least 24 hours prior to the lesson in writing to qualify for the one (1) make-up lesson per month (refer to section titled MAKE-UP LESSON). Notices can be sent via email to swimschool@africanseadivers.com or via WhatsApp at 063 442 2353.• Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance are not eligible for a make-up lesson. However, we encourage account holders to still notify us as soon as possible via email at swimschool@africanseadivers.com or via WhatsApp at 063 442 2353.• If you have a preferred instructor, we will do our best to accommodate your request. If this is not possible, please be assured that all our instructors are competent and qualified to provide the best service.
FEES• Swimming fees are non-refundable.• Monthly fees are worked out at a flat rate and do not change due to public/school holidays. Some months throughout the year may have more days than usual, resulting in additional lessons per month. We do not charge extra for these additional sessions.• Should it happen that the swimmer/s does not attend lessons, the account holder is still responsible for paying the full monthly fees.• Each additional swimmer will receive a 10% discount.• Swimmer/s will not be allowed in the pool if account/s are not settled, or a written agreement is in place. ALL fees are paid in advance for the upcoming month and are due on or by the 7 th of each month.• If payment is not received after the 7Th of each month, your swim slot may be cancelled and assigned to someone on the waiting list. The account holder is still required to pay the full monthly fees.• Credit on account/s is not refundable. The credit can be transferred to someone else or used for swimming lessons.• If an account is not paid within 30 days, lessons will not be provided until the account is settled. If the account remains unpaid after 30 days, the notice deposit will be used to cover the overdue amount. Should the swimmer wish to resume lessons, the account holder will be required to pay the notice deposit again, as well as the fee for the current month.
METHOD OF PAYMENT• For Electronic Payments (EFT) Please use the account code as a reference for payment (Found on your invoice).• Cash payments can only be made on arrangements using this email accounts@africanseadivers.com.• No cash deposits at a bank, cash deposits will be subject to a R20 bank charge, and no checks will be accepted.• Annual price increases will take effect on December 31 each year. Fees are subject to change without prior notice.
SWIMMING LESSONS• No classes will be given on public holidays.• For safety reasons, the instructor reserves the right to stop classes in the event of lightning and nearby storms. We will remain under cover and resume lessons if the storm clears and the lightning stops . If lessons are cancelled due to lightning or storms, make-up lessons will be rescheduled and will take place during the school holidays (refer to section titled MAKE-UP LESSON).• The swim school will make provision to OPEN DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, to allow swimmers continuity, however, these lessons are not charged, and are exclusively at the expense of the swim school. Therefore, swimmers who do not attend during school holidays will not be granted make-up lessons.• Swimmers can choose to swim or not during school holidays. Regardless of their choice, account holders are still accountable for the monthly fee. Account holders are advised to inform us in advance if they wish for the swimmer to continue swimming during school holidays.
MAKE-UP LESSON• Swimmers will be granted one (1) makeup lesson a month, provided 24 hours prior notice is given.• Make-up lessons cannot be accumulated or carried over to the next month/term. The account holder is allowed one (1) opportunity to reschedule a make-up lesson.• Make-up lessons will not be done for public/school holidays.• Make up lessons will not be done for closure in December/January.• Make-up lessons must be booked within two (2) days of the missed or cancelled lesson. The account holder is responsible for scheduling the make-up lesson, not the swim school. If the booking is not made within the specified time, the make-up lesson will be forfeited.* Lessons that were cancelled due to storms or lightning will not be liable for a make-up lesson.• If a scheduled make-up lesson is missed, it will not be rescheduled, and no additional make-up lesson will be granted.
SWIMWEARSwimmers to purchase their own swim wear (swimming items are available for sale). Swimwear includes;• Swimming costume• Swimming cap• Swimming goggles• Swimming towelSwimming caps range from R120, and goggles are between R250 and R300. Prices are subject to change.DRESS CODE• Female – swimmers should wear a one-piece costume. No two-piece costumes, bathing suits or see through swim wear will be allowed.• Male – swimming shorts or wetsuit.• Comfortable attire is required.• Swimming caps are compulsory. No swimming cap, no swimming.
RULES• Swimmers must visit the bathroom before his/her swimming lesson.• No chewing gum allowed in the pool.• Nose must be blown before the swimming lesson.• No running around the pool.• Do not enter the pool before or after a lesson without the instructor’s permission.• Unacceptable behaviour around the pool or towards an instructor will not be tolerated. The swim school will respectfully address unacceptable behaviour with the parent/guardian concerned.• No swimmer under the age of six (6) will be allowed in the bathrooms without their parents or any supervision.• No boys, 4 years and older will be allowed in the ladies changing rooms.• Lessons are either 30 or 20 minutes long and will start exactly on time. No extra time will be given in an event you arrive late.• If you arrive for the lesson early, kindly wait for the instructor and do not leave before the lesson starts.• Swimmer/s will not be allowed to swim if the terms and conditions are not signed by the account holder.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ACCOUNT HOLDERS/PARENTS• In some cases, having a parent on the pool deck can distract the swimmer. If this occurs, we may ask the parent to wait outside the pool area during the lesson and return to collect the swimmer afterward.• We kindly request that parents remain seated at all times unless they are supervising other children.• We advise parents to avoid using swimming aids during practice at home and instead apply the techniques taught in class. This approach helps swimmers progress more quickly, as relying on swimming aids can slow their development and hinder their ability to swim independently.
INDEMNITYI hereby waive any claim I may have against African Sea Divers (ASD) or its employees for any damage, loss, or injury sustained by any person in connection with swimming lessons. This includes, but is not limited to, theft, loss of life, bodily injury, or any other cause.
